APA often receives calls from students preparing for their first research assignment. Often instructors will suggest that classes visit the APA website, which is an excellent starting point and provides authoritative information on current topics and issues, press releases, reports and brochures, and position papers that can be helpful in selecting your topic.
One of the main products the Commons Library produces is research briefings. These provide in-depth and impartial analysis of all major pieces of legislation. The briefings also cover areas of policy, frequently asked questions and topical issues. These research briefings are published online and are available to MPs and the general public.
